The Bayou Country Children's Museum (BCCM) will hold their 3rd Annual "Night at the BOO-seum” Halloween fundraiser on Friday, October 21st from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm in the Town Center of Acadia Plantation, near the future site of the BCCM, off of Percy Brown Road in Thibodaux.
Tickets are $5 per person in advance through Thursday, October 21st at the following locations: Lynn's Little Feet and Cherry Books in Thibodaux, and the Service Desk of Southland Mall in Houma. Tickets will be $7 per person at the gate.
Organizers planned the Halloween fundraiser for children and families with local businesses and organizations manning booths, handing out candy, trinkets, and give a ways. Activities, included in the admission will feature hay rides, toddler train rides, kid's karaoke, bounce houses, games & activities and more. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. If your business is interested in becoming a participant to help trick-or-treat the children, please call the BCCM office at 985-446-2200. No sales are permitted by businesses at the fundraiser.
The Bayou Country Children's Museum, is planned as a 12,700 square foot facility with 50 unique exhibits highlighting the industry, agriculture, environment and Cajun culture of south Louisiana. It will also incorporate party rooms, meeting space, picnic areas and vegetable gardens. The BCCM will be built in the Acadia Plantation neighborhood, adjacent to Nicholls State University. It will serve children ages 2 – 12 from within an eight parish area including Assumption, Ascension, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Mary, Terrebonne and beyond. It will act as an extension of the classroom since all of the exhibits will correspond to the GLE's (Grade Level Expectations) for the area schools. The BCCM will educate and promote the unique cultures of south Louisiana with educational, entertaining, and interactive learning experiences to enrich the lives of children and its visitors.
