GULF OIL SPILL DISASTER ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE CENTER (GOSDAA) - Thursday, May 19, 2011

GOSDAA was established to provide assistance to service companies, manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers located within 60 geographic miles from the coast/marshes of Louisiana and Texas that were impacted by the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster. The GOSDAA Center will consider applications from affected companies that can demonstrate business losses within the period of April 20 through December 31, 2010 as compared to the same period of the previous year.

  • Adverse consequences include 5% or greater loss of sales or employment levels from April to December 2010 compared to 2009 during that same period of time.
  • Qualifying companies will need to have been operating at least since January 1, 2008.
  • Firms will agree to provide the following documents: Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Income Tax Returns and Employment Records from January 2008 until December 2010.
  • Assistance consists of a grant of up to $30,000 to be matched by the firm for consulting services for adjustment assistance projects. A total of $60,000 will be the maximum allowable for consulting services delivered under this program.
  • The University of Texas at San Antonio administers this U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration grant.

Program will not pay for:

  • Wages (W2)
  • Equipment, Raw Materials, Office Equipment, Building
  • Trade Show Travel Expenses
  • Hardware

Program could pay for:

  • Web Site Development
  • MIS (Software and Software Implementations)
  • Quality Systems (ISO 9000, ISO 14000, API, Six Sigma)
  • Skill Development Training: Safety, Software, Trade Specific, Office, Sales, Communication
  • Lean Manufacturing and Service Solutions
  • Supply Chain Solutions
  • Marketing Materials (design brochures, catalogs, etc.) No printing.
  • Trade show booth and materials
  • Sales/Communications Training
  • Product Engineering
  • Finite Element Analysis/Design
  • Research & Development
  • Industrial Marketing and Market Research
