New reporting requirements in 2012 for employers with 100 or more employees
The Louisiana Workforce Commission will hold a seminar for employers on electronic filing of quarterly wage and tax reports on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Terrebonne Parish Library Main Branch, 151 Library Drive, Houma.
The seminar, which is free of charge, will address the requirements and advantages of electronic filing of quarterly wage and tax reports. Informational packets will be handed out that detail step-by-step filing procedures.
By law, all businesses reporting 100 or more employees must file electronically after January 31, 2012. Also by 2014, the electronic filing requirement will apply to all employers.
Business owners, HR professionals, CPAs, and others are encouraged to attend. RSVP for the seminar by Jan. 8, 2012, with the number of employees attending (limit of two) and include the company's State ID number.
