Houma Chamber Supports Terrebonne Parish Recreation Modernization Task Force Charter

Our Chamber was asked to support the attached plan drafted by Councilwoman Jessica Domangue, District 5. Your executive board met quickly and unanimously agreed to ask for a full board vote. The board agreed to support the plan and the letter of support also attached was sent to the Council yesterday. Government Activities Chair, Nick Hebert spoke on behalf of our Chamber expressing support.

“Since December 15,1992, Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government has been participating in the Community Rating System (CRS) Program, as sponsored by the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Created by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), this program provides new incentives for communities that implement activities beyond those required by the NFIP. In return, the community is rewarded for these activities in the form of lower insurance premiums for citizens.
