"Chairman's Message"

June 2018

Summer is near as we enter the halfway point of my term as Chair. We have achieved a lot of tasks in our committees so far this year, but we continue to work towards achieving all of our tasks for each committee. I have been covering all our committees so that our members and community can see what we are doing for both groups. The last, but certainly not least, committee I will cover is the Community Development . . .

May 2018

As we enter in to May, we are a month away from the beginning of Hurricane Season. This prompts me to cover the committee that deals with infrastructure. The Economic Development & Infrastructure is the committee that looks at projects going on at the state and local level and how they relate to economic development and infrastructure. I would like to thank Mitch Marmande, our Division Chair, and Hank Babin, our Recreation Task Force Chair, for heading up the committee this year. They have made a commitment to assure that our members receive important information to assist businesses and our community . . .

We’ve tied our short-term goals to the long-term goals voted on by our board from input from our members. To achieve these goals, we have identified specific measurable tasks that we will work towards accomplishing this year. These tasks by committee are . . .

January 2018

As we enter 2018, I am excited and ready to lead the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce board and members as your Chair. I am very passionate about our area and the Chamber, and feel the responsibility of giving back to a chamber that has done so much for my company and myself. Our history includes being awarded the Small Business of the Year in 2007 and the Chamber Star award in 2015. Our company would not be where it is today without the Chamber. One of the mottos I live by is “you can’t tell where you are going until you know where you have been.” Our company achievements will guide me through this year as we move to create an even better Chamber of Commerce for our region . . .
